East Africa’s power, water and waste management landscape has much potential and mostly untapped. Countries are undertaking various large hydropower, water and wastewater projects and increasing infrastructure investment.

Overall, there is an increase in municipal solid waste resulting from the countries’ developmental rate and increasing population. There is a need for policies, environmental regulations, effective waste management systems and infrastructure improvements.

About East Africa

East Africa is seeing positive economic prospects in 2018, with GDP is expected to grow 3.3 per cent. According to the African Development Bank, quarterly economic report, the East Africa region will grow fastest in Africa at 5.8 per cent. Growth will be driven by strong domestic demand and high public infrastructure spending.
